iTrump - '2-inch Trumpet' with Trumpad App Reviews

Since I am a trumpet player, what better way to practice then to have your own personal pocket trumpet, that works! I was so glad I had purchased this app because I have learned to play songs from my iPhone I would have never been able to learn with my brass instrument. However, recently the app has slowed down on me and I cannot understand why. I cannot finger the notes without it getting stuck for a few seconds and while I practice songs the songs stop suddenly, please fix this problem for me, but otherwise, AMAZING app!

Great app, not sure if it was worth $2 though...

Wish it could go higher though... And more song choices would be nice too.

This app is amazingly well made. Spoonjack helped me to recover the songs I purchased in-app but lost once. I sincerely appreciate Spoonjack for resolving this incident. Wonderful.

The app is awesome on its own but an idea is maybe adding a button that puts a mute on the trumpet. Other than that idea this is really a good app

Tbh it sounds like a trombone. Maybe get and actual trumpet or something. But besides that and the really blatty low c, best trumpet app. Recommended.

This has an intuitive interface, is easy to use, doesnt sound that robotic, and is helpful for learning proper fingerings. A good suggestion is that there should be a feature that allows you to change the key of the instrument to anything between an octave up to an octave below the normal range. That would be more appealing to other brass instrument players such as the valve trombone or mellophone players. Also there should be a way to play in the upper registers, such as a button toggle that makes all notes go up two octaves, the buttons stay in place and turn a different color, and the fingerings change to the upper register fingerings. Otherwise, this is a great app, the easiest trumpet app on the app store!

This a pretty good app. Its fun to just mess around on. I use it to try and figure out riffs from some of my favorite songs. Goes from low F# to high C. The only issue I run into is needing notes above a High C. If it could go up to a G above high C the app would be perfect.

ITrump is cute, and is probably perfect for iPhone enthusiasts, but it just doesnt fill the gap for an old horn player like me. After losing my chops forever to head & neck cancer, I was hoping for an experience that closer mimicked playing trumpet more than this. I DO like the "no blow" feature, as thats an issue for me. While I understand that substitutes for open fingering & octave changes are necessary for an electronic horn, iTrumps GUI just feels wrong to me. Perhaps a set of 3 stationary valves & buttons to accommodate the above requirements would make it more realistic. I dont think that I wasted my money. Its still a fun app - just not real enough for my needs.

Extremely well made and well designed- its surprisingly playable, and also serves as a great illustration of trumpet fingerings over the harmonic series. Lots of fun!

There is no G# or Ab in Bb pitch. How can I play these notes or can I?

I am a trombone player, and found iBone and it came in handy. Now I found out about iTrump, but before I found it I was thinking if it would even be possible to make a trumpet app, and spoonjack made it possible! This app taught me the chromatic scale, and the basics of a trumpet. Thanks spoonjack!

For sure the best trumpet app out there. But please give the high a a clear entrance

Pretty good app except for the fact that it is missing Ab/G#. Am I doing something wrong or did the app developers just mess up that bad?? Needs to be fixed ASAP!

If youre an actual, serious player, this app is of no help nor fun. The note style is flawed and there is no help as far as intonation.

The app is fun and yes, all notes are actually present, but it is very hard to keep the notes in tune due to the pitch sliding function. Serious players will not enjoy the app because it doesnt always sound the greatest.
